Caterham Seven 620R — Newly Finished, 16 Miles

Some cars pursue speed by adding power. Caterham has spent five decades pursuing it by removing everything else. The Seven traces its lineage directly to the original Lotus Seven, whose manufacturing rights Graham Nearn acquired from Colin Chapman in 1973 — and the formula has barely changed since: a tubular steel frame, an aluminum body, and a relentless refusal to add weight for weight's sake. This 620R is the purest expression of that philosophy currently in production, and this example is essentially new — finished and delivered with just 16 miles on the odometer.

At the center of it is a supercharged 2.0-liter Ford Duratec four-cylinder producing 310 horsepower, paired here with the R Pack's six-speed manual gearbox, race-tuned suspension, and 13-inch Apollo alloy wheels in place of the standard car's setup. A limited-slip differential, lightweight flywheel, and ventilated discs with quad-piston calipers come standard across the 620 range. The result, in a car that weighs a fraction of what a conventional sports car does, is a power-to-weight figure that outruns cars costing many multiples more — the factory 620R has been independently clocked at 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and a genuine 155 mph, and in period testing it lapped Blyton Park quicker than a 720-horsepower Pagani Huayra. None of that comes from brute output. It comes from a car that weighs closer to 560 kg than the number on almost anyone else's spec sheet.

This particular 620R goes well beyond the standard R Pack. It adds a Track Day roll bar, a plumbed-in fire extinguisher system, sequential shift lights, a full LED lighting package, and both a full windscreen and a separate race screen — giving the next owner the flexibility to run it fully open for a track day or screened for a road drive.

The interior is built around the large chassis option with lowered floors, which gives taller drivers real room in a car not generally known for it. From there, the specification runs deep: heated carbon-shell seats, a suede Momo steering wheel, an under-dash heater, armrest doors, a map pocket, and a battery master cut-off switch. The gearbox and handbrake gaiters are finished in Admiralty Blue, and the car is fitted with a full top for weather protection when the mood calls for something less committed than the race screen.

Exterior presentation matches the specification. The car wears Viper Blue paint with double white stripes and yellow pinstripes, full carbon fiber front and rear wheel arches, carbon indicator pods, the silver wheel finish, and the number 7 series designation set into the grille — the visual shorthand for every Seven built since the name first appeared.

The car is located in Jupiter, Florida, and is presented in as-new, newly finished condition. At 16 miles, it has seen essentially no use beyond what was required to complete final build and delivery checks.
